The intentions of God for his children and people are always for their good. He works in very beautiful plans for those who love him deeply. Otherwise, they would mock him for giving them heinous suffering.

He works through free will. Even Jesus had his own will to play while dying in that he, himself, had the power to give up his spirit and not the Father.
Many beautiful sacrifices for his people came to the fore while he was on the Earth. He never had a place to lay his head on[Mt 8:20]; no nuclear family to call his own[Mt 12:50]; not even a tomb to lay.
This sacrificial love works for the ultimate good on a grander scheme of things. And it convicts them who are guilty of sin.
