Wisdom of Yore

Jesus rejected honour and popularity among people. We can recall many instances wherein He warned and asked people to not tell anyone about the miracle He performed on them(Mark 3:12). He was against the human way of honouring Him.

He knew their hearts were full of material things and this was one of the reasons He shunned their idea of being made a celebrity(John 6:15).

His Saints were thus too. St Bernadette of Soubirous stayed away from the people’s glare after many flocked to her to seek prayers and have a look at her. She spent all her life after the public visitation of Mother Mary in a Convent.

Jesus set us an example and everyone should follow it too.
