Wisdom of Yore

The last days mentioned in the Bible are here. There are signs everywhere around and these are growing more and more profound during recent times. While there may be apprehensions regarding them in people’s minds, it is wise to make reparations or changes like repentance.

What are the signs mentioned in the Bible?

There are many signs. Some of these are mentioned in Luke 21:25. It says that people will be confused or scared by the roaring of the sea and the waves. This has been the case since the aftermath of the tsunami that wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka and other coastal areas on December 26, 2004.

Luke 21:11 mentions the earthquakes, famine and pestilences that are going to be the norm in these last days.

Have such signs come to pass?

They have come to pass:

 Earthquakes never occurred in our city or State. But these last few months and years have seen a number of earthquakes[i]. Though these did not cause any devastations, and were mild, there were many of these tremors[ii]. Intuition says that these will become more frequent and lethal in the coming days.

Famine is all the more at the door[iii]. There is news of upward spiral of food prices in our neighbouring country, Pakistan. Flour for making bread costs around 3,100 rupees[iv] here.

More so, pestilences are around unlike before. Be it Covid19 or monkey pox or black fungus or Zika. The list is truly endless.

All of these are bound to pass, but God is eternal and his word does not fail. He has promised to be with us to the end of the age. He is rock eternal (Isaiah 26:4).

We should repent of our deeds that hurt God, humble ourselves and seek his face daily. So that he intervenes and bring joy, peace, righteousness of his kingdom on Earth. He is the best antidote to all of these troubles.
