Wisdom of Yore

A frequent question posed to Saints was about marriage. Owing to their chaste nature people used to baby them and at the marriageable age were confused of their state of being unmarried.

One of these instances recorded is that of St Faustina Kowalska. She was hired by a wealthy woman as a nanny for her child. St Faustina proved to be a very lovable nanny. But the woman wanted her to ‘settle’ in life and was trying to get her married. This was before St Faustina entered into consecrated life.

Needless to say, the wealthy woman did not succeed in doing this. God has great plans and everybody should follow their vocation- whatever it is.
