Wisdom of Yore

We are called to honour Saints and imitate them (1 Cor 11:1). They serve as a holy example to lead our lives. All of their sayings and writings serve to inspire and help us to take the right path. This is because they fought the same battles as us.

Many Saints were revered and honored later in life. They remained in oblivion. One of these was St Philomena. Her remains were discovered very late- almost 15 centuries later, officially– in the catacombs of Priscilla. After being discovered in an unexpected encounter, she was canonized by Pope Gregory XVI. She is a very powerful Saint.

God works in mysterious ways.
