If one does not love his brother who is seen, he cannot love God who is unseen [1John 4:20]. More so, everybody loves themselves. Imagine all the mistakes committed by us. We feel there was some genuine reason for it and not scold ourselves. It may sound funny, but it’s true.

If the same error was done by another of our family or neighbour, we get all judgmental. Scenarios like us ending up late to a scheduled meet versus others keeping us waiting can be brought up here.
We love ourselves and this is a very good yardstick to love others. For it is said, ‘Love others as you love yourselves’ [Matthew 22:39].
