God Demands Complete Surrender

Jesus wants complete surrender from us to his will. He asks us to invest in eternal things where moths and rust do not destroy the riches nor thieves break in to steal them [Matthew 6:19].

We should offer him all spotless and fine things like Abel who offered the finest things from his harvest [Genesis 4:4]. God gets pleased with such offerings.

Our life, too, is very pleasing to him with all its fragrant virtues and sacrifices. St Francis of Assisi lived a life of extreme poverty to inspire many who were leaving the Church.

Such noble souls who have surrendered everything for him are promised many lands, brothers, fathers, mothers, sisters along with eternal life [Matthew 19:29]. Everything that we have is his; why should we not offer it to the Lord?
