Wisdom of Yore

Not all who are struck with disaster are sinners(Luke 13:4). God allows suffering in the lives of his faithful too. He prunes them so that they produce more fruit(John 15:1,2). Suffering is for everyone and in the plan of God (Romans 5:3-5).

Jesus suffered too. For Him it was a form of baptism. Job proved his faithfulness through suffering.

Saints like Faustina Kowalska endured Jesus’ passion, though only a part of it. It was unbearable for her. She experienced it during some ceremony and fainted. But, as with all Saints, she was not scared of it and had enough. St Faustina asked for more of it and she received it. This was for her to resemble like Jesus as He became her betrothed.

Everyone is called to suffer, though to fulfill different purposes.
