Saints: Against Publicity

God never wants us to seek earthly things(Romans 12:2). He has made it obvious in the life of his Saints too. They never liked publicity. Many great Saints lived the lives of hermits in forests to have a deep spiritual awakening.

More so, Saints like Padre Pio never liked the spiritual phenomenon of the Stigmata in him to be visible. He was praying for it to become less visible to people around. This was because the wounds with the blood was visible on his palms. He also used to wear special gloves to hide it.

But God was against this nature and wanted to bring great honour to his Saints. In the case of St Pio of Pietrelcina, his visible Stigmata never was hidden, but only at the moments during his death.
