People in the old testament times failed to understand the nature of God. They thought of him to be an angry and terrible(Deut 5:23-25) God who doesn’t forgive iniquities easily.
But this took a different turn in the new testament. God came down to Earth in the form of man so that people can connect with him.
The result was that they understood the Lord’s loving and long-suffering nature, among a host of other qualities. His dual nature of being human and God at the same time made all of us relate to him in the closest possible way.
More so, he now intercedes for us from heaven too(Romans 8:34). We are so blessed.
