Saints of God

Saints are the ones who have done great heroic acts and virtues. They have changed the course of history and impression of the Church among people. These great people of God were not like other men of God or the common man. God set them apart for a purpose [Deut 14:2]. They were truly special.

One can pray to them and their answers to prayers after their death too is amply recorded in the Bible: Elisha’s bones raised a dead person to life [2Kgs 13:21]. Also, Jeremiah handed over a golden sword to Judas to be victorious in his battle [2Macc 15:16]. v14 says that he prays a lot for his people, the Jews.

Hence, Saints’ bones can be displayed across the world to bring about miracles as in the case of Elijah from the passage in the Bible in 2Kgs. We can pray to them too as in Lk 16:24, wherein the rich man prayed to Father Abraham.

Also, Jesus is God of the living and not of the dead. Hence every great man of God is alive to him. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- all living Saints of God [Mk 12:27]. Nobody is dead. So we can pray to Saints.
