Wisdom of Yore

Poor souls please the Lord. There are plenty of instances in the Scriptures about this. Good News was first proclaimed to the poor Shepherds [Luke 2:8-12]. Even the lowly people like Lazarus, from the rich man’s story, was accepted into Heaven [Luke 16:19-31].

Jesus, also, was from a materially poor background. This was for a reason that, through his poverty, we may become rich [2Corinthians 8:9]. But this does not mean that he is far from the rich.

He says that it is difficult for the rich to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than for a Camel to pass through the eye of a needle. But, everything is possible with God [Matthew 19:24,26]. For, some Saints were rich and Kings too. We are called to stay true to the vocation he has called us.
