Wisdom of Yore

Pray daily. King David prayed early in the morning [Psalm 63:1a]. Prayer solves every kind of problem. It is a token of love to God and that we belong to him. God asks meaningful prayers from us and also to pray with the room closed, so that he may reward us [Matthew 6:6].

Jesus prayed in solitude like on hills and places where people rarely visited. St Francis of Assisi used to pray in the wilderness, all alone. This, he did, to discern God’s will sometimes. He used to keep away from even his closest companions during this time.

God reigns supreme in us through prayer. Otherwise, we deny him the power and this can make us go far away from him [2Timothy 3:5].
