God and Parents

Jesus Obeyed His parents though they were earthly ones(Luke 2:51). He did this because it pleased His heavenly Father. He instituted families so as to establish love. Those who obey their parents have long life in the land(Ephesians 6:1-3).

Parents

The mother of St Kuriakose Chavara brought him up in very godly ways. Because of her he attended daily mass and never missed it in his life. She also inculcated in him the discipline and devotion of saying the prayer of rosary daily. She woke him up at midnight from his sleep to say the rosary. Because of this habit, he never missed this prayer in his life.

Parents can inculcate in any child the discipline and urgency of saying prayers. Children learn discipline from parents. God wills it for them(Proverbs 13:24).
